• Chief Jay Strongbow & Dominic DeNucci vs. Gypsy Rodriguez & Moose Monroe

DeNucci and Monroe exchange armlockage to start. In comes Gypsy, he gets his nose popped by DeNucci. The heels corner DeNucci, but he ends up forcing Moose over to Strongbow for a tag. Vince gives us an update on Frank Williams. Fortunately, his neck isn’t broken by Swede Hanson and he will return in a month or so. Vince mentions how awkward Moose moves around in the ring – just like an actual moose according to Vince. Back over to DeNucci, he picks up Monroe and slams him down for the win. (5:51) It appears the match has prematurely ended the way everyone is reacting. What are you gonna do.

• Swede Hanson (w/Freddie Blassie) vs. Pete Sanchez

Vince calls Hanson a hillbilly type even though he’s from North Carolina with a rebel flag jacket. Not what I would call a hillbilly, but whatever. Bruno is not looking forward to seeing his friend in this kind of trouble. Sanchez hurts the man, but Hanson catches him coming off the middle rope and drives him back into the corner. Hanson grabs Sanchez and delivers a swinging neckbreaker for the three-count in 4:11.

Freddie Blassie and Swede Hanson talk with Vince McMahon at ringside after a commercial break. Blassie laughs about people stuck in a body cast drinking their meals through a straw – especially when it happens as a result of the actions of Swede Hanson. Vince thinks Hanson hasn’t met any real competition, but Swede feels different about that. Blassie says Hanson didn’t even need to use the piledriver to beat a guy like Sanchez. Hanson says he doesn’t need anybody to help him in the ring and wants to face all competition around here. Vince asks Blassie why Hanson goes for the neck. Blassie says an arm hold or a leg hold will heal, but every athlete knows the neck is never as strong as it was before it was broken. Just ask Bruno Sammartino. OH SNAP. Blassie managed a Hansen who broke Bruno’s neck. Now it’s Bob Backlund’s turn.

• The Great Hussein (w/Freddie Blassie) vs. Johnny Rivera

Hussein jumps Rivera at the bell and chokes him with his headdress. Rivera gets whipped into the ropes, but backflips over Hussein and dropkicks him out to the floor. Back in, Hussein takes another big tumble to the floor as the crowd gives him crap. Back in again, Hussein still can’t figure out what to do with Rivera. Instead of trying to wrestle, he goes back to beating on Rivera. When Hussein goes for another backdrop, Rivera kicks him down and once again Hussein rolls to the floor to regroup. Back in the ring, Rivera mule kicks away from a full nelson. Hussein goes to the eyes and finally gets that backdrop he’s been looking for since the beginning of the match. Knee drop gets two. Another backdrop attempt, but Rivera sunset flips him for 1-2-NO! Once again, Hussein rolls out to the floor. He then elbows Rivera to the floor so Blassie can get in some insulting kicks. Bruno thinks Rivera has a split lip after the knee drop from Hussein. Back inside, Hussein delivers a shoulderbreaker, but doesn’t want to pin the man. There’s the butterfly suplex. Feels like the match is going long due to the opener getting cut short. Next thing we know, Rivera slams Hussein and comes off the top rope hoping for a senton splash, but Hussein moves and Rivera nearly tears his knees up in the process. A vertical suplex from Hussein gets the win. (7:31) Vince and Bruno take their hats off to Rivera for showing TONS of bravery here.

• Ivan Putski & Tito Santana vs. Jose Estrada & John Schmidt

We catch Putski and Santana as they gear up for their championship match on October 22. Santana and Estrada start us off with armdrags and an armbar from Santana. He keeps Estrada under control for the first couple minutes. In comes Putski, Estrada rakes the face and takes Putski over to his corner to double-team him with Schmidt. Putski gives them the double coconuts to stop all that mess. Back in, Putski puts Schmidt down with a headlock. Bruno points out that the only advantage Schmidt has over Putski is height and that’s it. Poor Schmidt is just so awkward in there. The POLISH HAMMER connects. Santana keeps Estrada away so Putski can pin the man. (6:37) After the bell, Bruno talks with Ivan Putski and Tito Santana at ringside. Ivan says he and Santana are a winning combination. It’s a big love fest between these three guys. Ivan even goes as far as to say Bruno is still the world champ in his eyes. WHAT. Anyways, Ivan and Tito want is a shot at the tag titles. Santana has no doubt in his mind that they can win the tag titles from the Valiants.

• Larry Zbyszko vs. Dave Darrow

Rather scientific match where holds are traded. They take turns slamming each other, but ultimately Zbyszko wins with a small package in 3:32.

Dave Darrow getting his butt beat once again ends the program. Until next time, so long for now.
