Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Bruno Sammartino.

  • The Wild Samoans (w/Captain Lou Albano) vs. Rene Goulet & Frank Williams

Afa and Sika handle Goulet to start, but he of course gets in some minor inconveniences that allows him to tag out. Frankie has no chance against the Samoans. They grab the traps, choke Frankie, and rip his face. I mean, BAD NEWS. They continue to punish him for several minutes, but decide to put him away with the SAMOAN DROP from Afa. (8:27) The Samoans continue their “scorched earth” path to the WWF tag titles.

  • Pat Patterson vs. Johnny Rodz

This is the last time we will see Patterson introduced as the IC champion with the belt here on the show. Naturally, Rodz jumps Patterson at the bell and throws him out to the floor by his towel. The beatdown continues, but Patterson comes back inside the ring and throws Rodz to the floor hoping to get his own level of retribution. Rodz comes back into the ring trying to hit Patterson with the stretcher, but of course he misses. Patterson tries to keep Rodz grounded on the mat with chinlocks. Rodz gets to his feet and removes the turnbuckle pad, but Patterson reverses and cracks Johnny’s head over the steel buckle. Patterson finds an O’Connor roll and pins Rodz for the win. (6:23) Vince complains about a fast count, but your dude just got his head whacked on STEEL. He was done. *½

Bruno Sammartino speaks with the IC champ Pat Patterson after the commercials. When Bruno asks him how it feels to be loved by the people, Pat says it feels good to have everybody (especially the women!) come up to him and ask for autographs. Patterson still wishes to be the world champion at some point in his career. Bruno tries to encourage him for all the top talent he’s beaten while being the IC champion.

  • Ken Patera (w/the Grand Wizard) vs. Tito Santana

Patera takes Santana to the mat, but Tito counters to a headscissors. Santana keeps a hold of Patera with an armbar and they work around with that for a bit. Patera powers out with a backbreaker and puts the boots to him. He hits the throwaway slam and an elbow drop for two. Patera grabs a bearhug. The crowd gets behind Tito which builds to a comeback. Santana whips him into the corner chest-first and Tito gets two. A big slam by Santana gets two. He applies an abdominal stretch, but Patera breaks loose and a hiptoss over the top rope sends both men crashing to the floor. Patera then runs Santana into the ringpost and slides back inside the ring to beat the count for the CHEAP-O win. (8:21) Santana continues to be on a losing streak. He might want to get back to tag wrestling. *½

  • “Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe vs. Paul Figueroa

Sharpe is all about the arm, but then catches Figueroa with a back elbow and delivers a PILEDRIVER for the win in 1:53. After the match, former wrestler turned referee Tony Altimore (who went with Bimbo Larson to the hospital) tells Vince and Bruno that Bimbo Larson received two fractured ribs last week after the attack from Tor Kamata. WHAT A JERK!

  • Larry Zbyszko vs. Marc Pole

When Vince asks Bruno for a comment on Larry Zbyszko, Bruno excuses himself from doing the commentary and leaves the table. Lots of stalling from Larry. Pole randomly tries a standing dropkick and absolutely misses. Zbyszko picks him up and gives him a slam. There’s a gutwrench suplex for the win in 3:04. Zbyszko gets on the mic and sarcastically thanks the promoter for the “fine quality of competition.”

Until next time, so long for now.
