- WWF Intercontinental Champion Razor Ramon vs. Jeff Jarrett
Vince says Jeff Jarrett spends most of his free time watching the dumb hick’s answer to Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In: Hee Haw. Has anyone ever actually watched either show? Boy, they do not age well. After Razor tosses his toothpick in Jarrett’s face, Savage says that Razor was just sharing his toothpick with JJ, but that it’s probably not such a good idea since this is the ’90s. What are you trying to say, Randy? Jarrett tries for the upper hand to start until he runs into a Fallaway Slam that sends him rolling to the floor. They show a split screen of the replay and the live action, which is apparently a new thing on Raw because Savage goes NUTZ over it. Jarrett draws Ramon to the floor and smashes his head off the steps to take control. Back in, Jarrett applies a chinlock and CHEATS with a tug on the tights and his feet on the ropes. What a huge jerk. Razor fights out and gets Vince’s hopes up for a BAAAACK BODY DROP, but Jarrett sidesteps and slams Razor’s face off the mat. Time for a commercial break. Still in control when we come back, Jarrett nearly puts Razor out with the sleeper. His arm falls once, twice, but not three times. Ramon escapes with a back suplex and lays an arm on JJ for 1-2-NO! Ramon punches Jarrett back, but gets yanked out to the floor. Out comes Shawn Michaels to offer some words of discouragement. Razor nails Shawn and takes Jarrett back into the ring only to clothesline him out again. Meanwhile, Shawn gets Ramon’s attention as he climbs up the ropes. That only serves to set Razor up as he flips HBK into the ring to give him the RAZOR’S EDGE, but HBK and Diesel have got a plan because here comes Big Daddy Cool now to save him from taking the move. As Razor turns back around, he eats a boot from Diesel right in front of ref Dave Hebner for the DQ. (9:40 shown) If I’m not mistaken, this is JJ’s first big match where the WWF audience could take him seriously. Afterwards, Diesel gives Razor the JACKKNIFE not once but TWICE heading into their IC title match on the following weekend’s edition of Superstars. That reminds me – I need to recap that match some time. **¾
After the break, Vince gets a reaction from Diesel and Shawn Michaels. Diesel guarantees he will be the Intercontinental champion after this weekend on Superstars.
- Bam Bam Bigelow (w/Luna Vachon) vs. Tony DeVito
We just get the phone call from Jack Tunney. I really thought he would make an appearance, but this is fine. First off, Tunney says he will be conducting a thorough investigation of the activities of Jeff Jarrett, Shawn Michaels, and Diesel after what just happened. More importantly, the Headshrinkers will be getting the tag titles shot after all next week on Raw. Bigelow delivers a jumping headbutt to DeVito for the pinfall at 2:16.
We now go to the Quebecers and Johnny Polo for their response. Polo is most upset that Captain Lou Albano would pit the Headshrinkers who they used to consider their friends against them. Jacques wants to know where the justice is at. Savage feels the justice is going to be in the ring Next Week on Monday Night Raw!!!!!!!
- The Heavenly Bodies (w/Jim Cornette) vs. John Paul & Jason Headings
The good news (well, for the WWF. I don’t think anybody else really cares): Vince announces that last week garnered the highest rating ever for the program. The bad news (more for the fans than the WWF): Mr. Perfect has backed out of the WrestleMania Revenge tour and has been suspended indefinitely. This of course having to do with Hennig’s comeback being further delayed due to his back problems. Perfect has been replaced on the tour with Crush, which is even more bad news for anybody who has to pay to see it. Poor Jason Headings. While he’s a HOUSE OF FIRE, Headings puts Pritchard in the corner of the Bodies for the most obvious blind tag ever. The Bodies give Headings the Veg-O-Matic, but Del Ray stands up at the count of two to continue the punishment. Possibly to make him look stupid for that mistake he made. Anyways, eventually Del Ray hits Headings with the Moonsault Press for the win at 4:55.
The King’s Court with Nikolai Volkoff. Sitting in the front row, Volkoff jumps the rail to be a part of the show. Lawler makes fun of Nikolai for falling on hard times. Nikolai is proud to be an American and will not beg for a job – despite Lawler’s sound advice. Nikolai then decides to go back and sit in the front row with the rest of the bums.
- The 1-2-3 Kid vs. Duane Gill
Two future WWF light heavyweight champs going at it! Vince comments on the condition of Razor Ramon. He’s not hurt, he’s just MAD. Kid hits a big spinning heel kick to put away Gill in 3:11.
Latest Undertaker sighting: He was last seen at some deli ordering a six-foot wedge. Sounds more like Paul Bearer if you know what I mean.
- Owen Hart vs. Rich Myers
Owen gets all kinds of aggressive on Myers in this one. Needless to say, he’s a little pissed off. The SHARPSHOOTER takes care of Myers in 3:24. Afterwards, Owen puts a pair of Bret shades on him to send a message.
Captain Lou appears for the wrap-up. He’s just overjoyed about next week. This reaction brings out Johnny Polo to get up in his face. Savage backs up Polo and before Polo can run away, Savage grabs him for an open shot from Albano. Crowd goes nuts and Randy jumps in the ring where he SO wants to be if Vince would only let him. Out comes the Quebecers to help their manager, but we’re outta time!
NEXT WEEK: WWF tag champs the Quebecers take on the Headshrinkers!
