From: Manhattan Center, New York City
This weeks edition has been taped.
Brutus Beefcake cuts a promo on Ted DiBiase saying that he will show him that he is indeed back and ready to compete. Ted DiBiase also cuts a promo putting down Beefcake. Jimmy Hart is seen being very worried about the upcoming match.
RAW Opening Video
Vince McMahon welcomes everyone to the show alongside Randy Savage and Bob Bartlett. Tonight we will see a 16 man battle royal and Ted DiBiase taking on Brutus Beefcake in the main event.
Opening Contest: Steiner Brothers versus Glen Ruth/Bobby Who
The monthly squashes the Steiner’s continues. Rick finishes off their opponents following a top rope bulldog.
Wrestle Mania Report with Gene. WWF World Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart defends against Yokozuna. Undertaker faces Giant Gonzalez. Crush will take on Doink as well.
Second Contest: Yokozuna versus Ross Greenberg
Yokozuna picks up the easy win following the Bonzai Drop.
Special Report with Lord Alfred Hayes. Footage of Jim Duggan managing to knock Yokozuna off his feet for the first time in singles competition. Duggan celebrates that, and forgets to continue the attack thus allowing Yokozuna to throw salt into the eyes of Duggan and picking up the win.
A ten second promo by Yokozuna with Mr. Fuji putting themselves over is shown.
Vince McMahon says that when Giant Gonzalez wanted to get into the battle royal, everyone else didn’t want to get involved. So, it was suppose to be a seventeen person battle royal.
Footage of Giant Gonzalez destroying a jobber and his other two partners running to the backstage area.
Third Contest: 16 man battle royal
The feud between Kamala and Kimchee continues during the match as Kimchee eliminates Kamala and Kamala chases Kimchee all over the Manhattan Center. The final four men in the battle royal was Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Tatanka and Tito Santana. Giant Gonzalez makes his way out and eliminates both Tatanka and Tito Santana. Gonzalez leaves and Ramon simply rolls into the ring to pick up the win.
Main Event: Ted DiBiase versus Brutus Beefcake
Midway through the contest, IRS comes down to the ring and with his steel briefcase. IRS nails Beefcake over the back with the briefcase. Money Inc. proceeds to attack Beefcake and IRS whacks Beefcake right on the face even though Jimmy Hart tried to stop him. IRS throws Hart down. The briefcase shot made a sickening thud. Hart rolls in and consoles the injured Beefcake. Blood stains on the mat are seen belonging to Beefcake. Obviously, Beefcake wins by disqualification.
Vince McMahon says that Beefcake is already healed. He apparently can be back next week.
End of show
My Take: Another episode where the main focus is on the main event, and this one delivered. The briefcase shot sounded sickening and was played off very well. The only downside to the angle was when Vince said within five minutes that Beefcake is alright and could possibly be back next week. Kills the momentum Money Inc. could have been building. Ramon is starting to get a pretty good fan base. Should be interesting to see where he goes from here.
