- The Smoking Gunns vs. Owen Hart & Crush (w/Mr. Fuji)
The two only conceivable reasons Owen and Crush would team up is because they are both arguably backstabbers and Crush faces Bret Hart at the March to WrestleMania show this Sunday night, so Owen certainly has an added interest in that match. Nikolai Volkoff is chanting U-S-A from the front row wearing the ugliest suit you have ever seen. Hey look, it’s the Rob Bartlett fan club girls in the front row as well! Owen tears up his shades in front of their comically fat faces. Bart winds on Owen’s arm to start. Owen goes to the eyes to stop all that and tags Crush. Bart avoids a corner charge and flips to the apron only to drop Crush’s throat on the top rope. Flying bodypress gets two. Billy comes in and works a headlock. Crush runs into a boot in the corner and takes a flying clothesline. Another eye rake helps the heels break loose from an armbar. Tag to Owen, he finally catches Billy with the Spinning Heel Kick to turn the tide. Crowd wants Bret as Billy becomes *your* face in peril as we go to break. When we return, Bart gets the hot tag. Powerslam to Owen brings in Crush to break up the pin, which creates some chaos. While the ref is with Billy, Bart hoists Owen up on his shoulders for the finish when Crush comes by and clips Bart’s knee from behind. As Crush takes out Billy, Owen applies the SHARPSHOOTER on Bart for the submission. (6:57 shown) Fun formula tag to put over the heels. **
Vince goes over and gets some comments from the winners. Owen can’t wait to see Crush destroy Bret this Sunday night at the March to WrestleMania special. He doesn’t care if Crush breaks him up in little pieces because all he wants at WrestleMania is just one piece of Bret Hart. BAM!
- Jeff Jarrett vs. Virgil
Virgil works a hammerlock for what FEELS like forever. Out of nowhere, Jarrett hits him with the DDT for the win at 3:45.
Sy Sperling from the Hair Club for Men thinks his company can do a WORLD of good for Mr. Fuji. Has everybody forgotten that Mr. Fuji had hair like a year or so ago? Vince can’t wait to see what Sperling will do for Howard Finkel come WrestleMania.
- Doink the Clown (w/Dink) vs. Iron Mike Sharpe
Vince spends most of the match explaining the mixed tag match set for WrestleMania including Doink and Dink against Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon. WHOOPIE CUSHION gets the win at 2:19.
Next up, Vince introduces Chief Ray Little Turtle of the Lumbee Indian tribe. He has also found Chief Jay Strongbow and Chief Wahoo McDaniel to hang out for this segment. Out comes Tatanka to be presented with a big ceremonial Indian headdress. He tells a story of always respecting the headdress since he was a little kid and even sheds a few tears! Anywho, everybody embraces and stuff. Word on the street is, the red dye that went up and down the middle of Tatanka’s hair was starting to make his hair fall out.
- Irwin R. Schyster vs. Mark Thomas
Mark Thomas is kind of built like one of the High Voltage boys, but he proves no match for IRS. The WRITE-OFF lariat gets the win at 3:40. Gah, Rotunda has some kind of crazy perspiration issues.
Before we head out, Vince meets with Jim Cornette and the SMW tag champs the Heavenly Bodies to hype the Luger/Del Ray match for the March at WrestleMania show this Sunday night! Cornette says the game plan for Del Ray isn’t to win necessarily, but to make sure somehow someway Lex Luger is a beaten up, broken down man come WrestleMania 10! Seems like Luger and Bret would stay away from the ring until their big title shots. Just saying.
