  • Shawn Michaels (w/Psycho Sid) vs. Davey Boy Smith

The final two from the Royal Rumble GET IT ON! DBS catches Shawn off a leapfrog for an atomic drop that puts him on the floor. Back in, DBS clotheslines him back out to Sid. Back in again, they do an extended short-arm scissors spot where DBS lifts Shawn up in the air and drops him on his back. From there, Davey Boy applies a surfboard. Once it looks like DBS is about to pin himself, he releases the hold and backdrops Shawn out into Sid’s arms. Smith delivers a hourglass suplex for 1-2-NO! Shawn grabs a handful of trunks and yanks DBS out to the floor where he hurts his knee. Back in the ring, Shawn unloads and hits the jumping back elbow for two. HBK hits the chinlock. Davey Boy elbows out, but runs into a knee. Michaels hits the Flying Elbow Drop for another nearfall. Back to the chinlock. DBS escapes again with elbows, but comes off the ropes into a sleeper. He reaches for the ropes, but Sid pulls them back to avoid a break. Davey’s arm drops twice, but not three times. He counters the sleeper with a back suplex. HERE COMES DAVEY BOY! They fast forward to Smith pressing Michaels and crotching him on the top rope. Shawn does his signature flip in the corner and turns around into a headbutt for two. Shawn ducks a charge and causes Smith to fly out to the floor where Sid knees him into the ringpost. Back in, a small package from Michaels doesn’t get the win, but SWEET CHIN MUSIC will. (15:44 shown) Not too bad. Another big win on Shawn’s path to main event stardom. ***

Todd Pettingell is here to tell you all about the WrestleMania XI press conference in NYC. Shawn spouts off the classic line, “I will give you a show like you have never ever seen before. Why? Because I can.” In other news, LT calls Bam Bam Bigelow an ‘Easter egg’ and kisses him on the cheek! What a jerk. Pettingell informs us that WrestleMania XI will be a celeb-loaded night. It will also be loaded with whatever these guys are considered to be.

  • Bob Backlund vs. Buck Quartermaine

Vince announces Backlund v. Bret at WrestleMania XI in an “I Quit” match. Backlund makes this last longer than it has to be by reacting to the “Opie” chants. Quartermaine tries to get a quick win on Backlund, but the CROSSFACE CHICKENWING comes anyway and Quartermaine is DONE at 5:18.

  • Duke Droese vs. Steven Dunn (w/Harvey Wippleman)

After a “Duckman” plug, Jerry Lawler joins us via telephone. He’s scheduled to face Bret Hart next week. Jerry says he’s going to prove next week that Bret is a RACIST. After he makes another old people job directed at Stu and Helen, Vince hangs up on him. Cornette threatens to somehow revoke Vince’s telephone privileges for the next year for hanging up on Jerry Lawler. Oh yeah, the match. TRASH COMPACTOR gets the three count at 3:55. Afterwards, Duke finds a $100 bill in his trash can. What an odd way to pay the man, Vince.

To hype Nick Turturro appearing at WrestleMania XI, they do a silly NYPD Blue parody with Paul Bearer and Mr. Fuji.

Next Week: Bret Hart battles Jerry Lawler! Don’t miss out.
