WWE: Monday Night Raw (06.26.95)

Monday Night Raw
June 26, 1995
Danville, PA

The current WWF champs were as follows:
World Champion: Diesel (11/26/1994)
Intercontinental Champion: Jeff Jarrett (5/21/1995)
World Tag Team Champions: Owen Hart & Yokozuna (4/2/1995)
Women’s Champion: Alundra Blayze (4/3/1995)

To kick off the program, we get still shots of Bret Hart beating Jerry Lawler, making him kiss his foot, and then making Jerry kiss his own foot.

meshawn

Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels. Vince says Lawler has TOE-maine poisoning. Shawn is wearing a mesh t-shirt. It’s all too much.

  • The Smoking Gunns vs. The Black Phantom & Jason Arndt

This one lasts no time. Vince informs us that Mabel has won the KOTR. I can see why you wouldn’t want to start off your show with that kind of news. SIDEWINDER ends Arndt at 1:42.

After last night’s shenanigans, Jerry Lawler has gone to see Isaac Yankem DDS because he thinks he has terminal halitosis. He’s jamming gum in his mouth and gargling on fluoride. We hear drilling and struggling going on behind a closed door. Lawler thinks that his dentist wants to “extract” a little revenge on Bret Hart for what he did to his patient. He used to be the world’s greatest wrestler “under an assumed name” and now he’s coming to the WWF to “drill” his way to the top, starting with you Bret!

  • Skip (w/Sunny) vs. Scott Taylor

The hard camera zooms in on Sunny’s backside when she leans against the apron. Shawn sees it, but Vince thinks the cameraman is paying attention to Skip’s pushups. Headscissors out of the corner gets the win at 2:03.

Todd Pettingell talks us through some still shots from the KOTR to hype the encore presentation that airs tomorrow night at 8PM only on PPV! He also announces that WWF Champion Diesel is set to face Sid in a lumberjack match at the next In Your House PPV on July 23! They aren’t giving away another house though.

SAVIO WANTS THE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE!

  • Man Mountain Rock vs. Phil Apollo

This needed more Bob Backlund. MMR wins with the WHAMMY BAR at 1:21.

More still shots of last night’s KOTR finals. Men on a Mission put Savio Vega, Razor Ramon, and the 1-2-3 Kid down before the big coronation.

  • King Mabel (w/Sir Mo) vs. Kenny Kendall

Jabronis carry Mabel out on a big throne like they did for Jerry Lawler. Mabel has to be the only KOTR winner to carry a freaking Excalibur with him. Real strong squash for Mabel as he wins with a Belly to Belly Suplex at 2:34.

Waylon Mercy vignette. He’s sitting on a lifeguard stand. He thinks people might find that peculiar that people’s lives are in his hands. Once he gets to the WWF, the wrestlers’ lives are going to be in Waylon Mercy’s hands. Have you thought about that? KnowwhutImean, Vern? This guy is awesome.

  • WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett (w/the Roadie) vs. Savio Vega

Jeff Jarrett’s “With My Baby Tonight” music video premieres this weekend on Superstars. Roadie causes a distraction to start, but Savio fights back and controls the action. Vince and Shawn put over Savio for wrestling his FIFTH match in 24 hours. Roadie gets knocked off the apron and back onto the announce table where Shawn pulls on his braids. Jarrett tries to calm down Roadie while we take a commercial break. When we come back, Jarrett takes over with a swinging neckbreaker. Bossman straddle misses and Savio lands a back suplex. Slow cover gets two. Uranage slam fires up Savio. Again Roadie tries to interfere, but gets kicked onto the announce table. Shawn shoves Roadie back, which incenses Roadie as he begs Michaels to bring it on. All Shawn has to do is stand up and take off the headset to get the crowd going nuts. Jarrett tries to leap on Michaels, but gets a shot in the gut on the way down. He punches Jarrett back into the ring, allowing Savio to get an O’Connor roll, but Roadie breaks up the pin with a clothesline for the DQ. (5:30 shown) Easily the highlight of the night, but even this didn’t go long enough. Together, Shawn and Savio clean house to wrap things up and turn this feud over from Savio and Razor to Shawn Michaels. *

After a break, Shawn has the crowd rocking as he dances shirtless on the announce table. Meanwhile, Vince McMannequin gives us the rundown on what we’ll see next week.

NEXT WEEK: Bam Bam Bigelow meets Psycho Sid, Waylon Mercy debuts, and we’ll see the return of the 1-2-3 Kid!
