IRS wants to make Shawn the “Heartbroken Kid”, while HBK can’t wait to smack the taxman around

Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler.

  • WWF World Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Yokozuna (w/Jim Cornette & Mr. Fuji) vs. Jim Dimitre & Gus Kantarrakis

Vince hypes the WWF tag team titles match for In Your House when Owen & Yoko battle the Allied Powers. Owen puts one of these Greeks away with the SHARPSHOOTER in 2:54.

  • Jean-Pierre Lafitte vs. David Thornberg

This is the first match on Raw for Lafitte. Vince says there’s been a few things missing in WWF locker rooms as of late. Nasty dive on Thornberg around ringside. Back inside, he ties Thornberg up in the ropes and gives him a couple splashes. LE CANNONBALL wins in 2:34.

For the third week in a row, we see Jeff Jarrett’s “With My Baby Tonight” music video.

  • Shawn Michaels vs. IRS (w/Ted DiBiase)

We’ve seen a first here tonight, but we all see one man’s final Raw match. Originally thought to have retired, Rotunda will debut in WCW on the second episode of Monday Nitro as VK Wallstreet. Vince announces that Jeff Jarrett will give a live performance of his “hit song” at In Your House. Lot of primping and stalling to start. When Shawn gets the better of Irwin in a wristlock, IRS pulls on Shawn’s hair to take him down from an overhead wristlock. Schyster bails, but Shawn brings him back in by his tie and gives him a running neck snap on the top rope. Shawn works a headlock for a while, but then IRS escapes and throws him over the top rope crashing to the floor. IRS bounces his face off the steps and beats him on the apron, but then Shawn sunset flips back inside for two. IRS takes over with an abdominal stretch and of course cheats using the ropes. We change to a chinlock as we go to commercial. When we come back, Shawn starts to fight out only to get nailed with a slam. Vince and King tease that Diesel and Sid are looking through the curtain. IRS comes off the top rope, but eats a boot on the way down. Kip-up, Flying Forearm, and a flying double sledge gets two. IRS ducks Sweet Chin Music and nails Shawn with a clothesline. IRS ducks under a floatover in the corner and takes SWEET CHIN MUSIC anyways for the 1-2-3. (8:37 shown) Average IRS match. See you in WCW, my abdominal stretching friend. *½

Over to Isaac Yankem’s office. A kid in his dentist chair has an abscessed tooth. Jerry Lawler wishes this kid was Bret Hart. Yankem yanks the tooth out. It gets blurred because it’s too gruesome. Lawler and Yankem have a good laugh.

  • Kama (w/Ted DiBiase) vs. Billy Mack

Vince says something about DiBiase trying to get involved with the Miss America pageant. Lawler thinks the pageant is going to be X-rated because they want the swimsuit competition to be dropped. He read it in USA Today. Mack is no problem for Kama. He punches him down for the win at 2:02. When we return from a break, Kama yells at some of the Undertaker’s freaks sitting in the audience. The hot one’ not here this week.

Vince introduces the WWF champion Diesel to this very ring. What do Frank Perdue and Ted DiBiase have in common? They’re both surrounded by chickens. HAR HAR HAR. He goes on a rant about how you can’t buy friends. Just like DiBiase did last week, Diesel introduces *his* lumberjacks for this Sunday. They include Bam Bam Bigelow, the Smoking Gunns, Bob Holly, 1-2-3 Kid, Tekno Team 2000, Fatu, Adam Bomb, Savio Vega, Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese, Man Mountain Rock, and Shawn Michaels. Diesel creates hypothetical situations and asks what would happen if Sid stumbles out of the ring towards Bam Bam Bigelow. Bammer says he would set him on fire. Whoa! Unnecessary! Shawn Michaels is on the other side of the ring. HBK says he would catch Sid with some Sweet Chin Music. Well, that’s much safer. Vince brings out Sid. All the heel lumberjacks follow him out. Sid acts like he’s going to attack Diesel, but thinks better of it. He’ll just wait for Sunday for In Your House.

NEXT WEEK: Bret Hart meets Hakushi!
