TNA: iMPACT!
November 19, 2005
Orlando, FL
Universal Studios

The current NWA champs are as follows:
NWA World Champion: Jeff Jarrett (11/3/2005)
NWA World Tag Team Champions: America’s Most Wanted (10/22/2005)
TNA X-Division Champion: AJ Styles (9/11/2005)

Footage of last Sunday night’s Genesis PPV is shown. CHRISTIAN CAGE DEBUTED. Abyss and Sabu battled with barbed wire. Kip James dressed in totally inappropriate Shawn Michaels referee gear called the 3LK/Team Canada fair and square. Samoa Joe ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED Christopher Daniels after the Elimination X match – blood and everything as AJ Styles watched on. Plus, Christian Cage totally duped Team Canada and helped Team 3D defeat Planet Jarrett with a 3D through a table on Jarrett. If I get a copy of that show, I’ll be glad to do a recap because it’s a GREAT PPV if I remember correctly.

Your hosts are Mike Tenay and Don West.

  • Samoa Joe vs. Jerrelle Clark

This is the beginning of Joe bringing the bloody Christopher Daniels towel with him to the ring. Standard awesome squash for Joe. MUSCLE BUSTER and the COQUINA CLUTCH ends Clark at 2:00. Afterwards, AJ Styles appears on the ImpactTron and makes a challenge to the challenger for a change of pace. They will meet at Turning Point as AJ looks to teach Samoa Joe to show some respect and ultimately end the streak. All Samoa Joe is snarl at him.

While Tenay and West advertise the barbed wire massacre match between Sabu and Abyss planned for Turning Point, Jeff Jarrett and Gail Kim interrupt them to ask who his next opponent will be at Turning Point. All Tenay knows is that championship committee member Larry Zbyszko will be on a conference call in his office with TNA management to find this out. So Jarrett and Gail leave to find Larry Zbyszko’s office.

  • America’s Most Wanted vs. Sonny Siaki & Apolo

AMW pull a pearl harbor job on Siaki and Apolo, but then get thrown around and sent to the floor to start. Commercials! When we come back, Apolo is playing your face in peril. Crowd starts a “pussycat” chant to mess with Harris. Siaki gets a hot tag and gets a nearfall off a press into a Samoan drop on Harris. Storm is sent to the floor by Apolo. Meanwhile, Harris receives a superkick by Apolo into a backcracker from Siaki. Cover, 1-2-NO! Apolo tries to pescado onto Storm, but receives a BEER BOTTLE TO THE SKULL. While Storm is busy with the ref, Harris cleans Siaki’s clock with a beer bottle as well. DEATH SENTENCE to Siaki gets the win. (3:30 shown) Not a bad extended squash there establishing AMW’s cheating ways. *½

After the bell, AMW pull out a table and Harris spraypaints 3D on the table. As they try to make a sacrifice out of Siaki and send a message, Team 3D appear and chase them out of the ring. Brother Ray doesn’t think AMW has any clue the danger they just put themselves in. If AMW wants to play with tables, Team 3D challenges them to a tables match at Turning Point. While AMW watches on from the ramp, Team 3D throw their table back at them.

Outside Larry Zbyszko’s office, Jeff Jarrett and Gail Kim wait for Larry Z to come out of his office with Shane Douglas. Gail Kim tries to call Zbyszko on his cell number, but he’s not answering.

After the break, Shane Douglas checks in with 3Live Kru. BG James has some plans for the Kru that aren’t quite set in stone yet and won’t disclose what they are, so of course Konnan and Ron Killings are a little leery to trust him because they don’t know WHAT’S GOING ON.

  • Rhino vs. Abyss (w/James Mitchell)

Tenay tries to carny us a little bit saying that TNA’s barbed wire matches are more legit than the ones from those other wrestling organizations. Rhino fights off an onslaught of right hands with some right hands of his own. We go to the floor as Rhino takes out Abyss with a pescado. Commercials! When we come back, Rhino cleans house on Abyss. James Mitchell gets in the ring and tries to distract Rhino. He is successful as Abyss stops a GORE attempt and crotches Rhino using the ringpost. Back inside, the crowd gets behind Rhino as Abyss has him down in a neck vice. Rhino fights out and clotheslines Abyss a bit, but catches a big boot in the mouth. He surprises Abyss with a Spinebuster, but only gets two. Table time. Abyss looks for a CHOKESLAM, but Rhino has other ideas. He levels Abyss with a belly to belly suplex. He now wants to GORE Abyss into the table, but Abyss moves and the table gets GORED instead. Cover by Abyss, 1-2-NO! Time for the Shock Treatment, but the lights go out. When they come back on, Sabu is at ringside holding a barbed wire chair. Abyss is freaking out and forgets that Rhino is ready for the GORE. Cover, 1-2-3. (8:00 shown) Pretty darn good TV match. **½

In the back, Larry Zbyszko is ready to make his announcement. Jarrett’s opponent for Turning Point will be the MAN BEAST RHINO. Jarrett names some other people who should receive title shots instead of Rhino: Raven and Monty Brown to name a few. Jarrett already sees that TNA management is going to slide Christian in the back door so that he can get an NWA world title shot. I’m not so sure about the back door stuff, Jeff. Pat Patterson doesn’t work here. ZING! As Jarrett walks away disgusted, Gail Kim lets Zbyszko know he’s on very thin ice.

It’s Main Event Interview Time with Christian Cage as he makes his TNA iMPACT! debut. He’s not here in TNA because he had nowhere else to go, he’s here because TNA is the place to be. He’s here to get the respect that he deserves. If any of the boys in the locker room have a problem with that, he doesn’t really care because that’s how he rolls. Well, Monty Brown has a problem with it. He welcomes Christian to the Serengeti. He then tells Christian that the quantity of speech is not always indicative of the quality of thought. Christian hasn’t said anything or proven anything to him. Since Christian made fun of Jeff Jarrett’s clothes at Genesis, Monty makes fun of Christian’s clothes. He is wearing an awful brown t-shirt with an indeterminable logo and Timberland boots from 1998. Those should not be worn EVER, says Monty. Anyways, Monty has *rolled* through everybody in TNA. The only way Christian is going to leapfrog to the NWA world title is to leapfrog over Monty Brown – and that ain’t happening. Since Christian has nothing good to come back with, he interrupts Brown’s POUNCE-ah catchphrase and makes fun of Brown for wanting to pounce on dudes. Christian isn’t here to judge though. He just thinks Monty is afraid of losing his spot. Unless Brown is ready to “nut up”, he better find himself somebody else to POUNCCEEEE-ah, period. Well they go nose to nose. They trade punches, but it’s just a matter of time until Christian feels the POUNCE.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
