The current Lucha Underground champs are as follows:
Lucha Underground Champion: Prince Puma (1/7/15)
Lucha Underground Trios Champions: Angelico, Ivelisse & Son of Havoc (4/22/15)
AAA Mega Champion: Alberto El Patron (12/7/14)

Dario Cueto goes to see his brother in the cage. He holds a red sack full of seven golden medallions in his hand. Apparently, it was part of their father’s fortune that was seemingly lost. Once united, the medallions will make a warrior more powerful than the gods. Wait, has Lucha Underground turned into Dragon Ball Z now? Anyways, some of his luchadores will begin fighting over the medallions tonight. Dario may even bring a TV in here for his brother to enjoy the mayhem.

Your hosts are Matt Striker and Brother Vampiro.

  • Jack Evans vs. Aerostar

This is the Lucha Underground debut of Jack Evans. I’m glad they are spacing these guys out a little bit at a time. Evans wears the same gear as Angelico since they are a team in AAA, but neither Vamp nor Striker make any mention of their connection since it doesn’t apply here. Jack is SUPER COCKY mode here calling out to the fans telling them that he invented lucha libre. Aerostar draws Evans into the corner and walks down the ropes for a headscissors down to the mat. We go to the floor where Aerostar busts out a somersault plancha. Back inside, Jack gives Aerostar a judo takedown and takes a moment to tell us again how he is lucha libre. Aerostar gets caught in an STF, but makes the ropes. After he yells at the ref, he gives Aerostar a roundhouse kick to set up ODE TO BLITZKRIEG for 1-2-NO! Jack Evans channels the spirit of Ricki Starr with a bunch of backflips. He charges Aerostar and delivers a German suplex. After they run the ropes a little bit, Aerostar fires back with a hiptoss over the top rope to the floor! Evans hits the deck when he sees Aerostar wanting to fly, but Aerostar sees him too. He flips out to the floor and lands on his feet. Evans takes a hotshot onto the barricade, but then Jack 619s Aerostar away. That sets up a 450 SPLASH off the barricade! Back in the ring, Evans completely misses a Phoenix Splash. He manages to stop Aerostar up top though. During the struggle, Aerostar hits the SUPER CANADIAN DESTROYER on poor Jack Evans. That’ll do. Aerostar gets the win. (8:31) It shows these bigger stars that they don’t need to come in and treat the lesser known guys like jabronis. I’m fine with this. **½

Back in the locker room, Big Ryck gives his cousin The Mack some tough advice. This business is about one thing: MONEY.

  • Winner Gets a Golden Medallion: King Cuerno vs. Killshot vs. Cage vs. Sexy Star vs. Fenix vs. The Mack vs. Pentagon Jr.

After all seven luchadores meet in the ring, Dario Cueto comes out and says the winner of this one fall match will come one step closer to immortality. Plus, the price of gold is WAY up right now. I bet you could make a fortune off one of those medallions. But yeah, immortality is cool, too. Everyone quickly clears out except for Pentagon and Fenix. Did you know they are real-life brothers?! THE MORE YOU KNOW. Fenix shows off with a superkick and a springboard dropkick, but then Pentagon decks him with a Sling Blade for two. Big swinging DDT gets two as well. Fenix draws Pentagon out to the floor for a headscissors. Now King Cuerno and Killshot share some time in the ring. It’s much more mat based stuff than what we were just seeing. Killshot explodes on Cuerno with a dropkick, but then Cuerno dropkicks him hard back into the corner. As Cuerno gets up, Sexy Star delivers the LITACANRANA! When Cuerno basically NO-SELLS, he sends Sexy Star on the run. In comes Cage, he destroys Killshot with a clothesline. I’m guessing on a 2-on-1 situation happening here. Mack comes in, but he’s hardly any help for Killshot as Cage and Cuerno give them both suplexes at the same time! STEREO FLYING MOVES OFF THE TOP! Sexy Star attacks Cage, but headscissors away Cuerno. When she stands back up, Cage is there to run her down with a clothesline. Now Fenix and Mack take down Cage with strikes. Pentagon appears and superkicks the crap out of Fenix. Killshot superkicks away Pentagon! He and Mack start working together and deliver running clotheslines to Fenix and Pentagon. Eventually, they miss corner charges and receive STEREO DOUBLE STOMPS. Fenix and Pentagon then charge each other for a double-KO. Everybody’s down! Cage and Cuerno try to pin them, but Sexy Star interrupts the count again. She causes some heel miscommunication and then dives out on top of Pentagon – her sworn enemy! Now everybody starts hitting their finishes, so you know the end must be near. Once everybody is back on the floor, Fenix stands tall and looks to tope onto Cage. He’s caught directly into the suplex position. That amazes me every time I see that. Well, Killshot planchas onto both of them. Cuerno knocks down Killshot with a tope suicida. Back inside the ring, Pentagon is having to deal with both Fenix and Sexy Star. As he sets up Fenix for the FEAR FACTOR, Sexy Star charges and gets caught up in the Gory Special Drop. So yeah, Pentagon just did a move to two people at the same time. Sexy Star saves Fenix from having his shoulder snapped though. Pentagon then presses Sexy Star for a double knees gutbuster. Fenix makes Pentagon pay with a Reverse Hurracanrana and a standing moonsault gets the win. (10:15) Total bell to bell action. Everyone managed to get their moments to shine and looked fantastic even in losing. ***½

Over in Dario Cueto’s office, he meets with his Lucha Underground Trios champs and tells them they have to defend the belts against the Crew next week – in a LADDER MATCH. But Ivelisse’s leg is broken. How will she be able to climb?! I DON’T KNOW!!!

Elsewhere, Catrina confronts Fenix in the locker room and tells him he’s just a pawn for death. Mil Muertes needed his power of a thousand lives so he could be reborn stronger than ever before. Now that he has been reborn, he’s coming for Fenix. When Fenix grabs her, the lights flicker on and off and Catrina is gone. Next thing we see are some creepy luchadores wearing skeleton masks standing on top of the lockers. When they come down towards Fenix, we switch scenes.

  • #1 Contender’s Match to the Lucha Underground Title: Hernandez vs. Alberto El Patron

Hmm, so there’s no triple-threat. I would have sworn it was a double pin, but hey. Both men vying for power over the other to start. Hernandez is the first with the cheapshot and tosses El Patron into the post. Back inside, Alberto fires back with a series of clotheslines and a backcracker for two. Low Superkick fails from El Patron. Instead, Hernandez runs him down with a shoulder block. Backbreaker Drop by Hernandez gets two as well. El Patron shoots back up with a double knee armbreaker and connects with the Low Superkick. Cover, 1-2-NO! As he prepares and psyches himself up for the Cross Armbreaker, Johnny Mundo appears and pulls El Patron out to the floor for a DDT on the floor! As if that’s not bad enough, Mundo picks up El Patron and throws him through the glass window in Dario Cueto’s office! OH MY GOSH. Dario Cueto is inside! That’s awesome. Once El Patron has had enough time for the moment to really take effect and the blood to pour out of his forehead, Mundo puts El Patron inside the ring for Hernandez to score the easy pinfall. (5:09) Well, that sends a message not just to El Patron but also to Dario Cueto who Mundo has been at odds with ever since Lucha Underground started. Just a REALLY cool moment. And yes, I recognize that this is the Barber Shop window spot all over again. *½

In a word, that ending was…

nick-kroll

Until next time, so long for now.

NEXT WEEK: Son of Havoc, Angelico, and a crippled Ivelisse have to face the Crew in a LADDER MATCH over the Lucha Underground Trios titles!
