Alright, so Drago is back.

Your hosts are Matt Striker and Brother Vampiro. Striker commends Vamp for doing the right thing last week preventing Sexy Star from getting her arm snapped by Pentagon Jr. While Vamp battles with his own personal demons, even still he felt he had to do what was right.

Dario Cueto is in the ring to announce the inaugural Lucha Underground supershow he has called Ultima Lucha scheduled for August 5. Tonight, the top contender will be found for Prince Puma and his Lucha Underground title for the Ultima Lucha main event. Instead of finding a new challenger for Puma, Cueto pits some of Puma’s former title contenders against each other: Hernandez, King Cuerno, Cage, and Fenix in a four-way. OH WAIT, Mil Muertes pretty much killed that Fenix guy, so it will be a three-way instead. We switch gears as Cueto brings out Blue Demon Jr. who I assume will be on the Ultima Lucha card. To ensure Blue Demon doesn’t have any ring rust, he books Blue Demon against Chavo Guerrero – another guy making his return to the Temple – in a rematch from the first ever Lucha Underground show back in October. Out comes Chavo and he’s got what’s left of the Crew by his side. Cueto wants a ref out here so these two can go right now, but Blue Demon is in his street clothes. This time, Cueto makes this encounter “anything goes” because the guy is a SADIST.

After Demon and Chavo beat on each other for a bit, the Crew naturally get involved and use a kendo stick on Demon, which is their MO. In a cool bit, Cisco double-stomps Demon into a DDT from Castro. The Crew holds Demon down in position for the FROG SPLASH and the win. (3:05) Vamp wonders if Demon will make it to Ultima Lucha or even appear in Lucha Underground ever again. I have a good feeling that he will, brother. ½*

When we come back, Chavo Guerrero meets Black Lotus at her prison cell to gloat. After what he just did to Blue Demon, Mexico City will never have the balls to come after him again.

Elsewhere, Drago ambushes Dario Cueto in the bathroom and demands to be a part of #1 contender’s match tonight. Because he was one of Prince Puma’s former challengers, Dario grants him the match and forces Drago to put his mask on the line.

• The Disciples of Death (w/Catrina) vs. Mascarita Sagrada, Bengala & Pimpinela Escarlata
  

This is our first look at the Disciples of Death. Hey, whatever gets us more Catrina. She carries with her the Aztec stone. Anyways, they will be facing two little people and a tranny. Pimpy starts out with who I believe is named Negro because he’s the only one of the DOD wearing a black shirt. Pimpy does some of his silly tranny antics and tags in Bengala. Vamp and Striker make some terrible cat puns. He’s a white Tiger Mask looking dude. He trips up and hits a nice Lionsault on Sinestro and Trece. With Negro on the floor, Bengala wipes him out with a TORNILLO~! In comes Sagrada, the DOD take over as they start to triple team. Bengala receives a big triple-team springboard dropkick off the Doomsday Device. The little people get thrown to the floor. Meanwhile, Catrina gives Pimpinela the Lick of Death, which is the signal the DOD need to put him down with a Triple-Team Crucifix Facebuster for the three-count. (6:56) Actually more competitive than I thought it would be. The DOD should have gone over a little stronger in my opinion. *½

Johnny Mundo walks into Dario Cueto’s office wanting to know why he’s not in the #1 contender’s match tonight. The reason is because he has bigger plans for Mundo. After he saw Mundo throw Alberto El Patron through the glass window of his office, Cueto knows this man will be a Lucha Underground champion and the future of the company. Next week, Cueto decides to bypass tonight’s main event and puts Johnny Mundo and Prince Puma in a show-long iron man match to determine the Lucha Underground champion. Mundo couldn’t be more excited.

• #1 Contender’s Match: Drago vs. Hernandez vs. King Cuerno vs. Cage
  

Drago and Cuerno reignite their rivalry in the ring while Hernandez and Cage brawl on the floor. Hernandez shoots back inside with a slingshot shoulder block and takes out Cuerno. Cage helps out his sometimes partner Cuerno as they control the ring for a bit. They keep Drago on the floor while they double-team Hernandez. Flying elbow by Cage sets up a flying splash by Cuerno. Drago interrupts the pin with a flying senton, but lands on Hernandez. Drago can’t handle both Cuerno and Cage though and gets a powerbomb backcracker. Ouch indeed. Hernandez and Drago stop what could be a showdown between Cuerno and Cage. Hernandez pounces Cuerno to the floor while Drago delivers a Petey Williams headscissors on Cage. Drago then gets involved with Hernandez. He trips him up for a flying splash but only gets two. Hey look, Killshot is watching on! We get a short match-up between Cage and Cuerno before Drago breaks it up. He gets destroyed with a series of splashes from Cuerno and Cage. Hernandez stops Cuerno with the gutwrench inverted powerslam, but gets nailed with a double-jump moonsault by Cage. Now everybody takes a moment to fly out to the floor culminating in a moonsault from Cage. This type of thing might mean so much more if they didn’t do these high risk moves every week, but it’s what we come to expect from Lucha Underground. Hernandez is taken out with a sunset flip powerbomb to the floor by Drago. Cage looks like his knee is killing him. That leaves just Drago and Cuerno in the ring. Drago gives Cuerno some YELLOW MIST~! to paralyze Cuerno for the Dragon’s Tail pinning combination for the win. (10:35) Good not great. I would have liked to have seen Cuerno and Cage go a little bit further willing to destroy their alliance for another shot at Prince Puma. Loved the mist thing though. ***¼

Before we go, Catrina appears in Dario Cueto’s office and chokes Cueto until he makes a match between Mil Muertes and Drago over who will face Prince Puma at Ultima Lucha. Good night everybody!
