The following wrestling exhibition requires discretionary viewer participation.
Your host is Vince McMahon and Antonino Rocca. The poor man — I have no clue what Rocca is ever talking about.
- Crusher Blackwell vs. Al Williams
Some pounding early on in the contest. Crusher sits on the knee of Al Williams and you can probably figure out where the story goes from there. Vince takes a moment to discuss Crusher’s extreme appetite and how it could rival Haystacks Calhoun. You get one of a Vince “HUH HO” here, which cracks me up. Big legdrop ends Williams in 5:23.
- Bobo Brazil vs. Johnny Rodz
Rodz BUM RUSHES THE SHOW on Bobo, but of course Bobo Brazil turns it around on Rodz rather quickly. Rodz gets away from a wristlock and stomps the crap out of Bobo. Brazil comes back, but again Rodz is all stomps. Bobo whips Rodz into the corner a few times and backdrops Rodz for the COCO BUTT at 5:18.
Vince McMahon meets with Captain Lou Albano and Freddie Blassie. Albano says Ivan Koloff is looking for a match with Bruno. He’s also got a new combination coming to the WWWF that will regain him the tag titles from Parisi and Cerdan. Blassie brags that his army is growing all the time because he was attacked out in the parking lot by Vince’s favorites. He calls them out by name: Bruno Sammartino, Tony Parisi, Louis Cerdan, Gorilla Monsoon, Ivan Putski, and that stinkin’ Indian (Billy White Wolf). He calls the Latin people cockroaches who will be destroyed by his new guy Stan Hansen. He will also eliminate the “Unholy Six” mentioned above. Albano gets back on the mic and says he will once again hold the tag titles with his latest signees. More trash talk from Blassie closes out the segment.
- Stan Hansen (w/Freddie Blassie) vs. Bobby Schaeffer
Hansen doesn’t waste any time destroying Schaeffer by throwing him to the floor, which is I’ll remind you a basketball court. More brawling breaks down Schaeffer until Hansen decides to twist the elbow pad around and KO Schaeffer with the LARIAT in 2:57.
Blassie and Hansen talk with Vince after the bell. NOBODY CAN STAND THE LARIAT. Blassie makes sure to mention Hansen is coming for Sammartino.
- Pete Sanchez vs. Johnny Rivera
Got a couple Puerto Ricans fighting it out here. Sanchez is escaping holds from Rivera while Vince and Antonino chat it up about Stan Hansen and Billy White Wolf. No heat for this match as both guys are essentially babyfaces. Some okay stuff near the end, but Sanchez surprises Rivera with an inside cradle out of nowhere at 7:41.
- Billy White Wolf vs. Skandor Akbar (w/Freddie Blassie)
Billy White Wolf becomes Adnan Al-Kaissie in the AWA. Very strange seeing an Iraqi wrestling as a Native American, but that’s pro graps for you. He’s been doing this gimmick since the early 1960s so you would think he would have it down by now. Akbar of course is playing a Sheik character as he’s all clawing and biting and gouging on BWW. Billy White Wolf comes back on Akbar and tries the war dance, but man it’s awkward looking. He double chops Akbar for a one count and Akbar is taking a timeout on the floor. More stalling from Akbar. Back in, Akbar grabs a nerve hold. As BWW gets free, Blassie trips him up. Akbar puts the boots to him and shoves the ref away for the DQ. (8:37) He beats Akbar out of the ring and chops on Blassie who decides to get more involved. Vince grabs a quick word with Billy White Wolf once the dust settles. He’s looking for all kinds of competition, folks.
Until next time, so long for now.
