May 8, 1995
Omaha, NE
Civic Auditorium
The current WWF champs were as follows:
World Champion: Diesel (11/26/1994)
Intercontinental Champion: Jeff Jarrett (1/22/1995)
World Tag Team Champions: Owen Hart & Yokozuna (4/2/1995)
Women’s Champion: Alundra Blayze (4/3/1995)
LAST WEEK: Psycho Sid took down Razor Ramon with TWO powerbombs.
Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler.
- WWF Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett (w/The Roadie) vs. Doink the Clown (w/Dink)
This is non-title as Jarrett regained the IC title over Bob Holly yesterday on the Action Zone. They are trying to connect this as a payoff to what happened between Jarrett and Doink a YEAR ago. With that in mind, Doink is ROCKIN AND ROLLIN all over Jarrett to start. All it take is Doink telegraphing a backdrop to turn the tide. Bossman straddle and the strut follows. Doink gets a quick sunset flip, but only gets two as we go to commercial. AND WE’RE BACK! Jarrett remains in control as he starts to work the leg. During a half crab, he grabs hold of Roadie’s hand through the ropes as if that would actually gain him some extra leverage. Now to a sleeper hold. Doink escapes and hits a DDT. Powerslam gets 1-2-NO! After Doink whips Jarrett from pillar to post, Dink gnaws on Jarrett’s behind to the point Jarrett falls down. STUMP PULLER! While the ref is busy with Dink, Roadie sneaks in and chopblocks Doink to break the hold. That leaves Doink good and ready for the FIGURE-FOUR to give Jarrett the win. (7:24 shown) This pretty much wraps up any competitive matches on RAW for Doink here. *½
Vignette for the Body Donnas Skip and Sunny. They make fun of fat people – together. What an adorable couple. I bet they will be together forever. They will debuting soon.
We get an ‘aw shucks’ type promo from Bam Bam Bigelow concerning the last four months of his career. He puts over Lawrence Taylor and says (with the help of the FANS) he’s going to take out each and every member of the Million Dollar Corporation.
Time for the Sid interview. He and Ted DiBiase meet Vince McMahon in this very ring. It’s interesting to me that Ted DiBiase – a man who has spoken out specifically about disliking the Kliq – has basically been the brains behind Sid taking down Shawn Michaels, hurting Razor Ramon, and hoping to take down Diesel at In Your House. I don’t know exactly what Sid is talking about for the majority of this interview, but this Sunday he will show everyone after beating Diesel that he is the man who rules the world.
- Hakushi (w/Shinja) vs. Gary Scott
One of my faves here. Crowd wants Bret. He’s another one of my faves. Hakushi hits a gourdbuster on Scott. Vince – “Oh my goodness! What was that?!” Springboard Splash gets the win at 2:49.
The In Your House Control Center with Todd Pettingell:
WWF Championship: Diesel vs. Psycho Sid
WWF Intercontinental Championship: Jeff Jarrett and the Roadie vs. Razor Ramon
WWF Tag Team Championship: Owen Hart & Yokozuna vs. The Smoking Gunns
Bret Hart vs. Hakushi
Bret Hart vs. Jerry Lawler
KOTR Qualifier: Mabel vs. Adam Bomb
Plus, they are giving away a house in Orlando!
- Bart Gunn (w/Billy Gunn) vs. Owen Hart (w/Mr. Fuji & Jim Cornette)
Yokozuna is conspicuous by his absence here. Some feeling-out stuff to start. Bart runs Owen off through the ropes to escape a hammerlock. Back in, Owen gets caught with a flying bodypress for two. Gunn works the arm and Owen fights out, but then Bart catches a leapfrog and slams Owen down. Bart hits a big swinging side slam. He comes off the ropes, but Fuji trips him up to allow Owen to knock him out to the floor. Owen slams Bart into the ringpost and brings him back inside for a reverse neckbreaker. Cover, 1-2-NO! Owen lands his Enziguri Kick as we go to commercial. When we come back, Bart reverses a suplex and puts Owen up top. As he goes for a superplex, Cornette trips Bart to make him fall to the mat, while Owen maintains his balance up in the corner. To do the obligatory tit for tat move that it seems all WWF babyfaces get away with, Billy Gunn comes over and knocks Owen off the top to crotch him real good. While Owen is standing up and doubled over, Bart schoolboys Owen for the 1-2-3. (6:30 shown) Well, Owen and Yoko are clearly retaining now. *½
Let Us Take You Back: WWF Mania, 5/6/95. Todd Pettingell and Stephanie Wiand tour the house they are giving away and they just go crazy over it.
Before we go, Jerry Lawler announces that his mother will be with him at In Your House. After King beats Bret, he says his mother will challenge Helen Hart to a match.
NEXT WEEK: Bam Bam Bigelow battles IRS. Plus, the fallout from In Your House!
