IT’S TUESDAY! DON’T LET ALL THE SIGNS IN THE ARENA THAT SAY “MONDAY” ON THIS SHOW FOOL YOU! Your hosts are Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan.

  • Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. El Dandy

El Dandy BUM RUSHES THE SHOW on Rey, but Mysterio fires right back with armdrags and headscissors moves. The crowd is dead because I understand this was taped after last night’s Nitro went off the air. Over in the corner, Mysterio hits a flying headscissors for two because Rey lifted him up off the mat. Next thing you know, HECTOR GARZA and DAMIEN jump Rey for the DQ. (1:16) They must have been late there. Hey look, KIDMAN is out for the save. Damien takes a backdrop out to the floor. Kidman tries to missile dropkick Garza, but misses and wipes out Rey. Whoops. LA PARKA shows up to join the fight. Rey and Kidman then fight off Garza and La Parka and have a pow-wow over what just happened there. ½*

  • Saturn vs. Sick Boy

You would think Saturn would be done with these guys by now. Unfortunately the WCW bookers don’t think so. Kevin Nash maybe? He throws Sick Boy around to start. Sick Boy does the one move he gets to do often and that’s a springboard missile dropkick. There’s a modified F-5 move from Sick Boy. Saturn punches back, but gets caught with a springboard back elbow. Twisting neckbreaker gets two. He argues with the ref over the count and that’s all the break Saturn needs to start coming back. He hits a flying elbow and the DEATH VALLEY DRIVER connects. Saturn calls for the RINGS OF SATURN and that’s what we get for the submission win. (3:44) Hey, good for Saturn letting Sick Boy get in some moves there. *½

NITRO GIRLS~! It’s just like “Monday” Nitro!

  • Booker T vs. Disco Inferno

Disco tells the crowd to shake hands because they just set the attendance record for most scum bags in one building. Nice. When he wants to dance to his own music, Booker T’s theme hits and there’s no more dancing – they just RAISING THE ROOF. Booker is feeling it tonight. He wipes out Disco with the flying forearm and the Hook Kick. Heenan thinks DDP could win WW3, but Tony and Mike lambast him for that pick since DDP is on the shelf. Disco escapes a headlock, but Booker clotheslines him down and Disco snaps Booker’s neck on the top rope to take over. There’s a swinging neckbreaker for two. The flying elbow gets two as well. Time for the chinlock. Booker fights out, but Disco puts him back on the mat. Too much dancing. Heenan says Disco needs management. He would do it himself, but he’d have to take a pay cut. Heenan seems to be having more fun on this show than last night’s show – even though they taped this on the same night. Booker escapes another chinlock and hits the Ax Kick. The back suplex sets up the SPINAROONIE and the Harlem Side Kick. Disco hits an inverted atomic drop and comes off the second rope with a double ax handle, but Booker catches him in mid-air and delivers a Spinebuster for the three-count. (5:14) The crowd seemed interested in this one. Lots of energy coming out of Booker. **

NITRO GIRLS~!

  • Steve McMichael vs. Fit Finley

Mongo is all alone tonight. Back and forth action to start. McMichael hits a big running slam, but Finley comes back and forces him down to the mat. He grabs the traps for a few moments. Finley slams Mongo near the corner and tries a pump splash, but McMichael brings up the knees. Violent comeback from Mongo, but Finley goes to the eyes and double stomps him. He delivers the Finley Roll, but charges the corner only to run his shoulder into the post. Whoops. MONGO SPIKE! It’s all over. (4:18) He’s so intense! Man, this crowd couldn’t have cared less. ¾*

They replay clips of Hollywood Hogan’s big announcement that he’s running for POTUS from last night.

NITRO GIRLS~! The crowd boos at the end. Probably because there was no Fyre for that dance routine. I get it.

  • WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Bill Goldberg (c) “159-0” vs. Meng

Goldberg gets the full police escort all the way to the ring. It’s not for his protection, it’s for YOUR protection. Crowd is nothing but “Goldberg” chants. It’s got to be nearly midnight and the crowd stuck around just to see this man. Yeah, they really should end the streak, I tell ya. Meng NO-SELLS a shoulderblock, but then Goldberg fakes him out acting like he’s going to go off the ropes and just turns back around and punches Meng down. Whoa. Meng kicks and chops at Goldberg. They both go for clotheslines, but neither man sells. Meng tries a dropkick, but Goldberg holds onto the ropes and starts throwing clotheslines. Meng catches him with the high kick, but Goldberg NO-SELLS and pops up. Meng calls for the Tongan Death Grip, but Goldberg runs him down with the Spear and finishes him off with the JACKHAMMER for win #160 in 2:04. ½*

What an easy watch this was. Three hour Nitros are just a nightmare – and we have another YEAR of these weekly three hour shows to go. It’s just that Nitro has gotten REALLY bad over the past three months, but nobody seems to care enough about the show to bring it back down to two hours. They could have make it “no filler, all killer” once again when they still had a chance to be neck and neck with the WWF. Nope, just shut up and take the money as long as they allow it.

Good night everybody! Until next time, so long for now.
