HOT ENOUGH? Your hosts are Kevin Kelly and Shane McMahon.
VINCE McMAHON and the CORPORATION head out to the ring to start the show. He wants to apologize to Shawn Michaels and Jose Lothario, but Shawn didn’t show up and Jose didn’t want to listen. Vince brings out THE ROCK to hear to his apology. The Rock accepts Vince’s apology for what happened last week on RAW, but still wants to know why Vince put that big red retard in a match with Mankind. Tomorrow night on RAW, Vince books Mankind against the Big Boss Man. Ken Shamrock gets the week off to train for his match at the Royal Rumble against Billy Gunn. Unfortunately for Billy Gunn, he’ll be facing Test tomorrow night. Now Vince brings up Chyna who is now the #30 entrant in the Royal Rumble match. On Shane’s headset, he hears some disturbing news about Shawn Michaels and goes into the ring to let his father know what’s happening backstage. Meanwhile, Vince books an arm wrestling match for tonight against Chyna. To make sure Chyna isn’t intimidated by his huge 20-inch arms, Vince will make sure to wear a sweatshirt during the arm wrestling contest. Shane is able to convince his dad to give him the mic because it turns out that the WWF commissioner Shawn Michaels has scheduled the Rock versus Kane for tomorrow night’s main event on RAW. The Corporation is VERY upset over this news.
Backstage, Vince tries to assure the Rock that Kane is just a retard who will do whatever he tells him to do.
- Gillberg vs. Tiger Ali Singh
GILLBERG answers Tiger Ali Singh’s open challenge. They do the whole Goldberg entrance with the JOB Squad holding sparklers. The light heavyweight title is not on the line since Tiger Ali Singh is announced at 285. Singh NO-SELLS the spear and puts the boots to Gillberg. He gives Gillberg a powerbomb of sorts and when Gillberg counters a vertical suplex (to mock the Jackhammer), Singh falls on top of Gillberg for the three-count in 0:55. N/R
Michael Cole asks MARK HENRY what happened with he and Chyna. Nothing happened, Michael! NOTHING HAPPENED.
Elsewhere, we catch Shane McMahon in the locker room talking with Luna Vachon.
They air a video package highlighting PMS trying to split up Mark Henry and D’Lo Brown over the last two weeks on RAW. Last week, Chyna and Sammie helped Mark Henry and it looked like Henry got some comfort from these two “females”.
- Mark Henry vs. Scorpio
It doesn’t look like Henry is in the mood to wrestle Scorpio tonight. Scorpio keeps poking the bear and it doesn’t look like it will end well for Scorpio. He does manage to catch Henry with a Spinning Heel Kick for a two-count. Scorpio tries a cartwheel back elbow into Henry, but gets caught in mid-air and driven into the mat. Henry throws Scorpio into the air with a press slam. NASTY. Here comes CHYNA out to the ramp. She wants Mark to make a decision and gives him 24 hours. While Henry is distracted, Scorpio rolls up the big man for the three-count. (3:05) WHAT DECISION IS SHE TALKING ABOUT? We’ll find out tomorrow night on RAW. *
WWF REWIND << (brought to you by 10-10-220): RAW, 1/11/99 – The Brood attacks D-X and Road Dogg gets a bloodbath.
- Owen Hart & Jeff Jarrett (w/Debra) vs. Edge & Gangrel
Edge and Jarrett start the match. Jarrett delivers an armbreaker DDT, but Edge quickly fires back with a running bulldog. Edge blocks a rana with a powerbomb for two. Tag to Gangrel, he and Edge give Jarrett a double hiptoss. Kevin and Shane hype the Halftime Heat episode geared for January 31. Jarrett breaks away from Gangrel and tags out. Gangrel backdrops and powerslams Owen for two. Jarrett catches Gangrel with a knee from the apron as Owen delivers a spinning heel kick. Tag to Jarrett, Gangrel fights off a double-team and reaches Edge for a tag. He runs wild on the heels as ROAD DOGG runs down to beat up Gangrel. Refs and agents try to keep them separated. Meanwhile, Owen gives Edge a missile dropkick as Jarrett rolls him up for the three-count. (3:20) Fun little match, but weird seeing the Brood work as babyfaces. *½
Backstage, Vince warms up for his arm wrestling match with Pat Patterson while Gerald Brisco cheers on his boss. Hilarious.
They air a video package for the Mankind and Rock “I Quit” match at the Royal Rumble. We see a bunch of clips of Mankind being tortured over the years. IT’S GONNA BE A WAR!
When we come back, Vince is now warming up with Gerald Brisco who gives Vince more of a fight, but ultimately Vince wins with a smirk across his face.
Michael Cole checks in with Goldust. He’s laid down looking up at Head who he has now covered in Goldust makeup and a blonde wig. CREEPY.
- The Godfather (w/his really good friends) vs. Goldust
The whores get pulled under the ring despite not doing a very good job of looking like they are being grabbed. Next thing we know, AL SNOW appears from under the ring, which Kevin Kelly refers to as AL HO. Snow retrieves Head and Goldust sees what’s happening while Godfather rolls him up for the win. (0:55) Running up the aisle in heels, Snow can’t run faster than Goldust and gets nailed from behind. Head goes flying and Goldust picks up Head on his way back to the locker room. N/R
And finally, Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson square off in an arm wrestling contest. It’s time to go to the ring, so Vince has to tear them apart.
SLAM OF THE WEEK (brought to you by Glover for N64 / PC): RAW, 1/11/99 – Vince McMahon thinks he’s won the Corporate Rumble, but Stone Cold Steve Austin provides the distraction to help Chyna win.
If you haven’t seen it, you need to. They re-air Vince’s workout video chasing a chicken in the snow. GONNA FLY NOW.
- Arm Wrestling Contest: Vince McMahon (w/Gerald Brisco & Pat Patterson) vs. Chyna
Shane has a surprise for his pops and gets in the ring to announce LUNA as Vince’s substitute so he doesn’t rip Chyna’s arm out of her socket. Here comes Luna, but she’s attacked from behind by SABLE. A bunch of referees take their time getting those two separated. So much for that idea. Out comes Chyna all by herself. She shows off her arms to freak out Vince. All the typical old school “arm wrestling” stalling games are played here. Pat and Gerald are still arguing with one another. As Vince and Chyna go back and forth, Brisco shoves Patterson into Vince allowing Chyna to win the contest. Vince is ready to kill both guys while Chyna gets her arm raised in victory. Patterson gets on the mic and challenges Chyna to a match tomorrow night on RAW. Brisco grabs the mic and does the same. Michael Cole shows up with a mic for Chyna wanting to know her answer. She agrees to take them both on tomorrow night on RAW. N/R
Until next time, so long for now.
