WCW: Monday Nitro (10.12.98)

WCW: Monday Nitro
October 12, 1998
Chicago, IL
United Center
The current WCW champs are as follows:
WCW World Champion: Bill Goldberg (7/6/1998)
WCW U.S. Champion: Bret Hart (8/13/1998)

WCW World Television Champion: Chris Jericho (8/10/1998)
WCW Cruiserweight Champion: Billy Kidman (9/14/1998)
Outside the United Center, Eric Bischoff yells at building security and Doug Dellinger to keep Ric Flair out of the building. He’s an easy guy to spot: big nose, white hair, and goes WOO all the time. He’ll also be surrounded by the ugliest people you’ll ever see, so KEEP THEM OUT.
We quickly go back to last week on Nitro where Sting was being fitted with a neck brace and a stretcher as a result of his backstage brawl with Bret Hart.
HOUR NUMBER ONE! Your hosts are Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Larry Zbyszko. Read the rest of this entry

The show opens with a (This Is) Sting montage. Unfortunately, the sound cuts out about halfway through and just after he goes from the bleached blonde Sting to the Crow Sting, we switch over to the Nitro theme instead. Good grief that looked bad.
HOUR NUMBER ONE! Your hosts are Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Larry Zbyszko.

WHAT IS ERIC BISCHOFF YAPPING ABOUT NOW? The show starts in the production truck where Bischoff orders Craig Leathers and Keith Mitchell not to show *that* tape. He’s quickly turning into Paul Heyman with that ponytail. Doug Dellinger is called in and he escorts Bischoff out of the truck. Once Bischoff is gone, they air the tape anyways.
The tape they air is from Monday Nitro where Kevin Nash shoves Hollywood Hogan. It’s the SHOVE OF DOOM, ladies and gents. As soon as he pushed Hogan back, I think WCW felt they knew exactly what direction to go into this time with that reaction.
Your hosts are Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, and Lee Marshall.
