After a video package highlighting Chavo Guerrero and his issues in Lucha Underground and then Prince Puma overcoming all the odds and becoming the first Lucha Underground champion, we go to Dario Cueto’s office where he is speaking with Fenix. Cueto wants Fenix to destroy Prince Puma – a man Fenix has already beaten. The title will be on the line as well. Cueto tells Fenix that if he doesn’t take the championship from Puma, someone else will. He’s always trying to get somebody in his back pocket. As the camera changes focus, we see the mysterious Asian lady through the blinds in another room. WHO IS SHE?

In Dario Cueto’s office, he and Big Ryck celebrate the signing of his exclusive contract with Lucha Underground. Violence is Cueto’s favorite form of entertainment. And with Big Ryck, things are about to get a whole lot more entertaining.

From Dario Cueto’s office, Konnan confronts the boss on why Prince Puma was attacked from behind last week by Cortez Castro and Cisco. Cueto shifts the blame onto Big Ryck saying that those guys only to respond to him. He lets Konnan know that he doesn’t have anything against Prince Puma. If this is all true, Konnan suggests a Boyle Heights street fight between Puma and Big Ryck tonight. Cueto says he’ll drink to that and then Konnan takes the drink out of his hand and finishes it off. Cueto doesn’t seem too pleased. NOBODY BUT NOBODY DRINKS DARIO CUETO’S TEQUILA, ESE.

As he’s peeking out the window in Dario Cueto’s office, Konnan says he’s got more of the best fighters on earth coming to Lucha Underground: Fenix, Pentagon Jr., and Drago. These luchadores are as Konnan says, “on point like a decimal”. Cueto heard some troublesome rumors about these guys, but Konnan says their problems at the border have been handled. Konnan tells us that Lucha Underground isn’t much of a league without these three and that they are ready to go tonight. Cueto ponders a triple-threat match between them. May the best man win. Cueto and Konnan smile and pet their white cats as we go to the ring.
Your hosts are Matt Striker and Brother Vampiro. Word from the hospital is that Blue Demon is in stable condition. Vampiro wishes him a speedy recovery.

One of the CRAZIEST, most different beginnings to any promotion I’ve ever seen. There is a kid in a warehouse who is being beaten up by these two thugs when a MASKED WRESTLER saves the day with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors and a lucha-style armdrag, because you know – that happens in real fights. Anyways, he finishes the fight with an airplane spin and slams the guy down. Now once the dust settles, the masked wrestler extends a hand to the kid he just saved and tells him to come with him.
Next, they air a fantastic piece on the tradition of lucha libre as the luchadore fills this kid in on its rich history. There’s a presumably evil owner named Dario Cueto who appeared at AAA TripleMania last year trying to sign away luchadores to wrestle for him in America for Lucha Underground. We all know how well that turned out the first time, right? With all that out of the way, the kid is offered to join this luchadore in Lucha Underground.
We switch to some stock footage of Los Angeles until we enter the Lucha Underground Arena. Very reality show-style cinematography.
Your hosts are Matt Striker and Vampiro. The first thing that even feels familiar are seeing these two men with a normal wrestling show introduction.

Awesome. An Arn Anderson retirement video. I freaking love it. In fact, this whole THREE-HOUR program is dedicated to Arn Anderson. Let’s hope that doesn’t backfire on us. After that, they replay the Arn Anderson retirement speech IN FULL. Curt Hennig gets his “spot” and joins the Four Horsemen. Read the rest of this entry
