Your hosts are Jim Ross, Randy Savage & Bobby Heenan. At least there’s no Rob Bartlett. This would be JR’s WWF debut. JR and Heenan are both wearing togas to complete the ‘Roman empire’ theme for the night. Macho wears his usual extravagant ‘Macho Man’ attire, but only a tad more gay with the purple and gold. Hey wait a minute, those are WCW colors! Read the rest of this entry

So long Prime Time Wrestling, it’s time to get RAW!

On the last episode of PTW, it was announced that Bobby Heenan would not be a part of the Raw debut because he’s been replaced! Good thing Sean Mooney is there to stop him from going in.

Your hosts are Vince McMahon, Randy Savage and Rob Bartlett (comedic radio personality). One of those WTF moments looking back. Not as bad as Mongo on Nitro, but still pretty bad. Read the rest of this entry

Clash of the Champions #19 (06.92)

Clash of the Champions XIX
June 22, 1992
Charleston, SC
McAllister Fieldhouse

I know this really isn’t a good note to start out on, but according to ProWrestlingHistory.com, this was the lowest-rated Clash on TBS for the first 20 shows with just a 2.8. The lowest-rated Clash ever got a 2.6 one year later when some guys named Steve Austin & Brian Pillman took on Ric Flair & Arn Anderson in a main-event match that still makes people’s ears perk up today when they hear about the combination. Just something meaningless that I thought was sort of interesting.

On this night, WCW has brought in guys from all over the globe to compete in the first round of the NWA World Tag Titles tournament!

Your hosts are JR & Jesse! (Jesse’s first Clash and he’s pumped up!) Read the rest of this entry

I know, I know. I’m missing two straight weeks of Worldwides, which hasn’t happened since I started recapping these back in July. Sorry though, can’t review what I don’t have. Looks like we missed a Sting/Vader match too. AHH!
