TEN YEARS AFTER: WWE New Year’s Revolution 2007

WWE: New Year’s Revolution 2007
January 7, 2007
Kansas City, MO
Kemper Arena

The current RAW champs are as follows:
WWE Champion: John Cena (9/17/2006)
WWE Intercontinental Champion: Jeff Hardy (11/13/2006)
World Tag Team Champions: Rated RKO (11/13/2006)
WWE Women’s Champion: Mickie James (11/26/2006)

This is the last of the New Year’s Revolution PPVs — because who wants to buy a PPV and then buy the Royal Rumble in three more weeks. AMIRITE? Plus, you take away the elimination chamber which had been the only redeeming match from the other two years and you have got nothing to keep you here. Unless John Cena and Umaga can work a miracle!

Your hosts are Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Read the rest of this entry

We start off the program with a nice video package showcasing what happened last week when Jack Swagger cashed in his ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase to win the World Heavyweight title from Chris Jericho. With that music at the end where Swagger is holding up the gold, are we supposed to feel bad that he’s the champion now as opposed to the evil Chris Jericho?

We have a package from Breaking Point, where Undertaker won the World Heavyweight Championship, and then he didn’t. We go live and a limo pulls into the backstage area, and out of it comes Teddy Long, who is of course booed vociferously. He has a big security team surrounding him, and he heads to the ring.
