Vancouver, BC, Canada
General Motors Place

The current WWF champs are as follows:
WWF Champion: The Rock (11/15/1998)
Intercontinental Champion: Ken Shamrock (10/12/1998)

European Champion: X-Pac (10/18/1998)
Light Heavyweight Champion: Duane Gill (11/23/1998)
Hardcore Champion: The Big Boss Man (11/30/1998)
Women’s Champion: Sable (11/15/1998)

Vince McMahon comes out to a HORRENDOUS amount of boos. He declares there will be no chance in hell Stone Cold Steve Austin will ever be the WWF champion. He knows he said that if Austin wins the “Buried Alive” match tonight against the Undertaker, he would qualify for the Royal Rumble. However, McMahon feels Austin’s hopes of reaching the Royal Rumble will be literally “buried alive” by the Undertaker on the Rock Bottom PPV here tonight. As far as the Rock is concerned and his condition, this PPV tonight will be dedicated to the Best Damn WWF champion there ever has been. Vince asks for the crowd to pay homage to the Rock here tonight and calls for a drumroll. As McMahon points to the stage, fireworks go off and a huge blown up shot of the Rock holding the WWF championship drops and hangs on either side of the entryway. Now that’s out of the way, Vince starts to denigrate Canada just as he did to England a week earlier. Once he’s done slamming Canada for being a bunch of US-wannabes, he brings out Shane McMahon to join Kevin Kelly for commentary.

We start the show with a recap video highlighting what went down last week as John Cena battled Randy Orton to earn another shot at the WWE championship. To add to the drama, Triple H – who is supposed to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania for the WWE title – was made the special referee. No favors were shown to Orton, John Cena won the match by pinfall to make the WrestleMania main event now a triple-threat match, and then Triple H left them both laying in the center of the ring with PEDIGREES and stood tall over top of them with the WWE title in hand.

William Regal is pacing around in his office when Vince McMahon enters. Regal says he really needs to talk to Vince, but Vince stops him because he first needs to talk about RAW ROULETTE~! Regal can’t wait any longer and tells Vince he knows he’s mad he didn’t hit Hornswoggle to which Vince acts mad that Regal would actually hit his son. Hilarious mind games going on there. Regal then explains he thought he would make it up to Vince by getting Triple H disqualified so he would be out of the Royal Rumble match. McMahon ponders that and seems satisfied, but now he also wants Triple H hurt as well. He puts Triple H in a match with William Regal and spins the wheel to find out which match they will compete in: a FIRST BLOOD MATCH. That wheel looked like it might have realistically stopped on “Lingerie Pillow Fight”, which is a shame it didn’t. Regal looks much less excited about this than Mr. McMahon does and walks out of his office into an attack from Triple H. Refs and agents come out of literally nowhere and hold Triple H back as we go into the intro.
