Saturday Night’s Main Event #7 (10.86)

WWF Saturday Night’s Main Event #7
October 4, 1986
Richfield, OH
Richfield Coliseum
(Taped on 9/13/1986)

The current WWF Champs were as follows:
World Champion: Hulk Hogan (1/23/1984)
Intercontinental Champion: Randy Savage (2/8/1986)
World Tag Team Champions: The British Bulldogs (4/7/1986)
Women’s Champion: The Fabulous Moolah (7/9/1986)

Tonight, does Jake Roberts and Damien really take showers together? Only they know for sure. Plus, the Dream Team look to send the Bulldogs to the dog pound and take back their tag team belts. Can you really send people to the dog pound merely because a nickname? With that logic, you could say lighting Dynamite Kid on fire would cause him to eventually explode! And later on, Kamala makes his return to the WWF! It seems he’s already in talks with the Dungeon of Doom nine years ahead of time. Must be a hard club to get into! But first, Benedict Orndorff calls Hogan a crybaby. OH NO HE DIDN’T! Yes he did. It’s time for Saturday Night’s Main Event!

Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Jesse “The Buckwheat” Ventura. Read the rest of this entry

PWG: Uncanny X-Mas

PWG: Uncanny X-Mas
December 18, 2004
Hollywood, CA

Yeah I know I said I was going to do the first All Star Weekend: Night Two show next, but I picked this show up back on Mother’s Day. Oh! I also took advantage of Highspots.com’ s ‘May Insane Deals’ deal on the 31st and bought five PWG shows from early 2004, which I will probably start on next to avoid going too far forward before I go backwards – if that makes any sense at all.

Your hosts are Disco Machine and Excalibur. Read the rest of this entry

ROH: Manhattan Mayhem

ROH: Manhattan Mayhem
New York, NY
5/7/2005

ROH World Champion: Austin Aries (since 12/26/2004)
ROH Pure Champion: Jay Lethal (since 3/5/2005)
ROH Tag Team Champions: BJ Whitmer & Jimmy Jacobs (since 4/2/2005)

Good Times, Great Memories with Colt Cabana: He’s in downtown New York, DADDY-O! People are asked what they think of Nigel McGuinness and one guy who looks like he was a tad irresponsible with LSD back in the ’60s says, “He sounds like he has a British sounding name.” Classic stuff.

From there, we go to Earlier Today. Samoa Joe meets Jay Lethal in the ring. Lethal starts to thank Joe for all he’s done for him until Joe shoves him back and yells at him because obviously he’s taught Jay nothing if he’s here to thank him right before they get into the ring. Joe is here to take his title, and if Lethal has learned anything from Joe, its that he has to do whatever it takes to keep Joe from taking his belt. To prove Joe wrong, Lethal pie faces Joe into the corner and tells him after tonight, Lethal will tell Joe where to meet HIM from now on. Okay, I am really feeling this title match now.

Your hosts are Jimmy Bower & Dave Prazak. Read the rest of this entry

The Finlay Youtube/DailyMotion MixTape

Today, I salute you Mr. Finlay, for being the only guy with a first name that starts with the letter F that’s worth a crap. You’ve made a reputation of being one of the most consummate greats in the biz and you only get better with age. Thank you Dave Finlay, for all the wonderful matches and brawls you have given us over the years.

Sorry, that was starting to sound like a borderline love note. Read the rest of this entry
