TNA Genesis opening video
– The video consists of wrestlers taking about what they were meant to do and their goals in TNA.
– I was a good video, which TNA usually produce anyway.
Mike Tenay and Tazz welcome everyone to Genesis
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff make their way down to the ring. They enter the FOUR sided ring. Hogan welcomes the fans to the event and to the brand new Impact Zone, which gets a mixed reaction. “We Want Six Sides” chant starts up. Hogan says that the six sided ring only got them so far. Hogan says that they changed it whether the people like it or not. Hogan is proud to be apart of TNA Wrestling because it is all about wrestling. Eric Bischoff chimes in and says that they are all about change. Bischoff says that a lot more changes are coming for TNA. Hogan says “Whatcha gonna do Vince McMahon when TNA comes after you?”. Hogan and Bischoff head to the back. Read the rest of this entry

Before I start with the review of TNA Impact, I thought I’d share some thoughts on TNA at this time. I will be honest, I have not been watching present day TNA as of late. I do read the spoilers to see what is going on. However, now that I am covering TNA I will have to refrain from doing so. So, for future reference, I will not know what has happened prior to the television tapings. Here are some thoughts before the show. Read the rest of this entry

Footnotes:
[1]: This was an 8-team tournament final to crown the first-ever ROH tag team champions.
[2]: As a member of Christopher Daniel’s stable called the Prophecy, Xavier was allowed to defend the titles in Donovan Morgan’s place. Styles and Red were forced to vacate the belts due to an injury Red suffered.
[3]: The vacant titles were decided in a gauntlet match which also featured the teams of the Briscoe Brothers, Hydro & Deranged, and the Ring Crew Express. The Backseat Boyz were the team to survive by defeated Dixie and Izzy and were therefore awarded the tag belts.
[4]: In March 2005, Dan Maff quit the wrestling business and the titles were once again made vacant.
[5]: This match was to determine who would take the vacant ROH world tag team titles.
[6]: Rocky Romero & Davey Richards defeated Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black, Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries, and Brent Albright & BJ Whitmer in an Ultimate Endurance match to win the titles.
[7]: In May 2008, a Mark Briscoe injury caused the Briscoes to vacate the tag belts.
[8]: This was an 8-team tournament final to crown new ROH world tag team champions.

Footnotes:
[1]: Once a 16-man tournament reached the quarterfinals, the remaining competitors were Low-Ki, Christopher Daniels, Doug Williams, and Spanky. These four men met in a four-way 60-minute ironman match where the wrestler with the most falls wins the title. Also if you suffered a pinfall, you would lose a point from your score. After 60 minutes, Low-Ki barely beat out Christopher Daniels with a score of 3-2 to become the first-ever Ring of Honor champion.
[2]: This was a fatal four-way match which also included Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels.
[3]: This was a triple-threat match which also included the ROH world champion Jerry Lynn; however, Aries scored the pinfall on Black.

This would be your first-ever all “Six Sides of Steel” show. Of course on paper, everybody in the IWC doomed it to be a terrible show before it even happened and said that it would surely kill TNA forever, but let’s not dwell on that and see how it actually turned out. Read the rest of this entry
